About this swimming hole
Tucked into the Shawnee Hills, 25-acre Pounds Hollow Lake has an official Forest Service swimming beach with a hand-cut sandstone picnic shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corps above the sand. The USFS guide says the beach opens May through September with no swim fee and no lifeguard on duty. Swimming is allowed at the beach only, and only electric-motored boats are permitted on the lake. Pine Ridge Campground sits on the ridgetop above the water for overnight stays.
