Easter Lake is Des Moines' own free swim beach, a no-lifeguard public beach on the city's southeast side open through the summer. The park wraps the lake with a four-mile trail loop, five picnic shelters, and three playgrounds, and the historic Owens Covered Bridge sits on the south shore.
