About this swimming hole

Glen Elder State Park sits on the north shore of 12,500-acre Waconda Lake (Glen Elder Reservoir), one of Kansas's largest lakes, and maintains a sand swimming beach with picnic shelters. The reservoir flooded the historic Waconda mineral spring, a sacred site for Plains tribes, and the park preserves a full-scale replica of the spring. The state park also offers a marina, campgrounds, and trails.
