About this swimming hole
Queen Anne's County's only public swimming beach, on Kent Island along the Chesapeake Bay with views of the Bay Bridge. The grounds center on the historic Matapeake Clubhouse, opened in 1936 as the ferry terminal for the Annapolis–Matapeake ferry that ran until the Bay Bridge opened in 1952. A one-mile wooded trail, family picnic area, and a separate designated dog beach complete the park.
