North Point State Park — Chesapeake Bay Wading Beach

Ocean cove · Maryland

About this swimming hole

A 1,300-acre state park on the Chesapeake Bay at the site of the former Bay Shore Amusement Park, where DNR maintains an unguarded waterfront open to waders and swimmers. The small sandy beach and family-oriented wading area sit near the restored trolley station, fountain, and the 1,000-foot Crystal Pier. More than half the park is the protected Black Marsh Wildlands, so a swim pairs easily with marsh and woodland trails.
