About this swimming hole
Park Point stretches six miles along Lake Superior from Duluth, a freshwater sand spit with ocean-like dunes and surprisingly swimmable water. The shallow, protected bayside and the big-lake side both draw summer crowds. It is the most accessible Lake Superior beach swim in Minnesota, with lifeguards at the main beach in season.
