Spruce Run Recreation Area's 1,290-acre reservoir normally hosts a guarded swimming beach with a full bathhouse complex. IMPORTANT: NJ State Parks posted an advisory that the Spruce Run swim area is CLOSED for the 2026 season. Outside closure years, swimming is allowed only in the designated beach area while lifeguards are on duty.
