Coney Island Beach (including Brighton Beach) is Brooklyn’s famous free public ocean beach along the Atlantic. City beaches run Memorial Day weekend through the Sunday after Labor Day with lifeguards 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and swimming is prohibited without lifeguards on duty. The boardwalk, amusement area, and subway access make it the city’s most visited beach.
