About this swimming hole

Reached along the hike toward Spray Falls, the Coves are a string of sandstone-lined beach pockets inside Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The water here is shallow, brilliantly clear, and sheltered by the cliffs, making it arguably the best hike-in swim in Michigan. An afternoon visit catches the sun on the cliffs and usually thinner crowds.
