Montreal Falls

About this swimming hole

One of the few waterfalls that pours directly into Lake Superior, Montreal Falls rewards paddlers with a swim at the base of the cascade. Most visitors arrive by sea kayak on a 12-mile round trip along black cliffs and sea caves, though upstream pools above the falls offer a warmer wade-in option. It is exposed, remote, and best done with a guide or strong paddling skills.
